Beatriz Thomas

Real Estate Paralegal

Beatriz Thomas is a Real Estate Paralegal at Goodwin Law, where she helps guide clients through the purchase or sale of their homes from contract to closing. She works closely with the firm’s attorneys, clients, real estate professionals, lenders, and other parties involved in each transaction to keep matters organized, deadlines on track, and communication flowing throughout the closing process.

Beatriz brings more than seven years of legal experience to her role. She began her legal career as a receptionist and quickly advanced into legal assistant and paralegal positions. Her experience includes working in the fast-paced personal injury field before transitioning into real estate transactions. Along the way, she developed strong systems for managing competing deadlines, organizing complex matters, and maintaining consistent communication with clients and other professionals.

Beatriz approaches her work with a combination of organization, positivity, and practical problem-solving. She understands that a real estate transaction involves many moving parts and believes that keeping everyone informed is essential to a smooth closing. When an unexpected issue arises, her approach is to remain positive, assess the problem, and work collaboratively toward a solution. She strives to be the person clients and colleagues can rely on to anticipate needs, answer questions, and help move the transaction forward.

That emphasis on accessibility is also what initially attracted Beatriz to Goodwin Law. Of the firm’s “4 NO’s,” No Barriers resonates most strongly with her. She values an environment where clients have access to the team handling their matter and where attorneys, paralegals, clients, and other professionals collaborate rather than operate in separate silos.

Beatriz earned her bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College in 2019, double majoring in Economics and Urban Studies with a concentration in economic development. She is also a Florida Notary Public.

Born in Cuba, Beatriz moved to the United States when she was four years old. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and photography. She combines two of those interests through a food blog she created and built herself, where she photographs and shares some of her favorite recipes.
