President

Matthew Goodwin is the Founder and Principal Attorney at Goodwin Law, where he focuses on real estate transactions, estate planning, and probate administration. He works with individuals, families, and investors to navigate significant legal and financial decisions with clarity and confidence—whether that means structuring a deal, guiding a closing, or designing an estate plan that works when it matters most.

Since being admitted to the Florida Bar in 2014, Matthew has built a practice focused on residential and commercial real estate transactions, title and settlement services, and comprehensive estate planning. His work is intentionally relationship-driven—clients often start with a real estate matter and continue working with him on estate planning and probate. That continuity is by design, not coincidence, and reflects a long-term approach to legal counsel rather than one-off transactions.

Matthew founded Goodwin Law with a clear point of view: most legal problems aren’t caused by complexity—they’re caused by a lack of clarity. Too many clients are left guessing about cost, timelines, and next steps. In response, he built a firm designed around systems, transparency, and communication. Flat fees replace uncertainty. Processes eliminate friction. Clients are never left wondering what’s happening or what comes next. As he sees it, legal work should feel structured and predictable—not reactive and opaque.

His approach is simple yet deliberate: eliminate surprises, communicate early and often, and ensure clients understand the “why” behind every decision. The goal is not just to complete a transaction or draft a document, but to build a level of trust that brings clients back when the next need arises.

In addition to his legal practice, Matthew serves as a Faculty Member for the Florida Association of Realtors and remains active in both the legal and real estate communities. He is a member of The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section and Solo and Small Firm Section, as well as the Collier County Bar Association’s real estate and trust and estates sections. He is also a member of WealthCounsel and Strategic Coach. His leadership experience includes serving as Chair and Vice Chair of the Real Estate Section of the Collier County Bar Association and contributing to multiple committees at the Naples Area Board of Realtors. He is a Major Investor in RPAC and serves as a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Matthew earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, also cum laude, from the University of Michigan. He is also a licensed Florida real estate agent and a Florida Notary Public.

Originally from Lake Park, Florida, Matthew has lived and worked in Manhattan, suburban Detroit, and central Florida before establishing his practice in Southwest Florida. Outside the office, he plays the drums whenever he gets the chance, enjoys downhill skiing, and travels with his family. He is also the host of the podcast Beyond the Briefcase, where he explores conversations about law, business, and life. He continues to study how technology, systems, and longevity-focused ideas are shaping the future of his profession and the client experience.
